In Dagestan, relatives of kidnapped Sirajuddin Khasaev call on authorities to find his whereabouts

Today, in Makhachkala, the central square in front of the complex of buildings of Dagestani government, gathered relatives and friends of Sirajuddin Khasaev, who on September 3 was repeatedly kidnapped by unidentified armed men straight out of the hospital. The gathered relatives demand that the authorities should find the whereabouts of the kidnapped man. This was reported by his wife Zaira Khasaeva.

In total, in Makhachkala, about 40 persons gathered for the action. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Zaira Khasaeva, the wife of the kidnapped man. "We demand that they precisely told us where my husband is now. We knew for sure that he was lying in the hospital, and we have the corresponding medical records, which state that he was brought to the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of Makhachkala. However, police officers said that my husband is not there," the woman has noted.

According to her story, Sirajuddin Khasaev was brought to the hospital for medical treatment in serious condition with burns, signs of torture, and gunshot wound. "Then, at the reception we were told that my husband was driven away by unidentified armed men to some unknown destination. There is no doubt that ordinary people from street cannot take out patients from a resuscitation ward. The kidnappers presented some documents, talked to doctors on duty, so, they represented the official agencies; therefore, we demand help from the authorities," Zaira Khasaeva said.

The woman has expressed her fears that her husband can be killed, since he can give incriminating evidence against the people, who kidnapped him. She has also stated that till present, no representative of the authorities came out to the gathered people.

A source from the reception of the Republic's Clinical Hospital confirmed the fact of admission of Sirajuddin Khasaev to the resuscitation ward. One of the doctors, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed that the patient was taken away by unidentified people in police uniform.
