About 30 organizations in Armenia expressed their readiness to accept Syrian Armenians for employment

About 30 organizations in Armenia are ready to offer jobs to the Armenians who came from Syria. All in all there are over 500 offers to fill vacancies in different spheres, Lusine Stepanyan, Head of the Department for problems of the Armenians of Middle East of the Ministry of Diaspora, reported.

According to Lusine Stepanyan, in order to get jobs Syrian Armenians can appeal to the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia. Vacancies in different spheres are open for them. “These are traders, engineers, technologists, mechanics, experts in manufacturing footwear, clothes, cotton, constructors, physicians, economists, accountants with salaries of 100 to 150 thousand drams”, she said. 

According to Stepanyan, over 60 Syrian Armenians have already appealed to the Ministry of Diaspora and 20 of them got jobs.

The majority of the Syrian Armenians prefer work in the capital, however there are people who agree to be employed in a village, Stepanyan added. For instance, she said that two families agreed to settle in the village of Ishkhanadzor, Kashtag district of Nagorno-Karabakh where they were “at once provided with dwelling and jobs”.

“A new hospital is under construction in Berdzor, administrative center of Kashtag district. After its commissioning a family of physicians will go to live in Berdzor”, she said.
