Ivan Agafonov's father files complaint about threats received from Rasul Mirzaev's friends

Lawyer of the family of Ivan Agafonov, who died after a fight with sambo athlete Rasul Mirzaev, filed to the investigatory authorities a complain about pressure from friends and relatives of the athlete.

The complaint about that was written by Alexander Agafonov, the father of Ivan Agafonov, to the head of the Zamoskvorechye Interdistrict Investigatory Division of the Investigatory Department of the Central Administrative District of the State Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in the city of Moscow.

Alexander Agafonov designated his complaint as "a report of the crime". In his complaint, he reported that at about 4:00 p.m. Moscow time, on July 27, during a break in the court session in the case against Rasul Mirzaev, in the hallway of the court, he was approached by Artyom Karapetyan, a witness, questioned in the case.

"Karapetyan and about eight persons of Caucasian nationality, unfamiliar to me, began to shove me and started to pull my right hand, while Karapetyan threateningly talked to me, he said: 'Let's go out and talk like men.' I believe that by their behaviour Karapetyan and his friends wanted to put pressure on me and scare me to force me to no longer come to the court as a victim and to fail to fully implement my procedural rights," stated Alexander Agafonov in his complaint.

Friedns of athlete Rasul Mirzaev rejected accusations that they communicated with Alexander Agafonov in raised voices or threatened him.
