Case on balloon explosion in Yerevan sent to court
The preliminary investigation into the explosion of balloons in the Republic Square in Yerevan on May 4 is over. The case was transferred to the court for trial, the spokesman of the Police of Armenia said.
The charge was brought under Part 2, Article 279, of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (production or sale of goods, execution of works or rendering of services that fail to meet safety requirements), Armen Malkhasyan from the press service of the Police of Armenia told the edition named "Panarmenian".
The penalties under this article include a fine of 300- to 500-fold minimum salary, or correctional labour for up to two years, or imprisonment of up to five years, the "News.am" writes.
Serob Bozoyan is 54 years old; he is an individual, engaged in filling up balloons; he has no entity and receives private orders, said Arsen Aivazyan, the head of the investigatory division for especially important cases of the chief investigatory department of the Police of Armenia, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
So far, there are no comments of Serob Bozoyan or his representatives.
