In Moscow, investigation into Yuri Budanov's murder completed

In Moscow, the investigation into the murder of Yuri Budanov, ex-Colonel of the Russian Army, has been completed. This was reported today by a source, familiar with the course of the investigation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in late August 2011, the Presnya Court of Moscow arrested Magomed Suleimanov, a native of the Chechen Republic, suspected of the murder of ex-Colonel Yuri Budanov. He was filed the charges under Article 105 (murder) and 222 (illegal possession of weapons) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. On October 3, 2011, the court upheld the arrest of Magomed Suleimanov.

However, according to the source, close to the investigation, later, investigators changed the suspect's data after the work on his identification. At present, the suspect in the criminal case on the Yuri Budanov's murder appears not as Magomed Suleimanov, but as Yusup Temirkhanov.

"Yusup Temirkhanov faced charges of murder motivated by hatred. Investigation into the case has been completed. Soon, the parties will be able to examine the materials. The motive of the crime is in the fact that the father of Yusup Temirkhanov was killed and burned by the Russian military men, so, he murdered Yuri Budanov to take revenge," the "Interfax" quotes the source as saying.

The information that at present, Magomed Suleimanov appears in the case materials as Yusup Temirkhanov, has been confirmed by Murad Musaev, the lawyer of the defendant. According to him, investigators changed the defendant's personal data without explaining the reasons.

The lawyer did not rule out that his client would ask for a jury trial, the "RAPSI" (Russian Agency of Legal and Judicial Information) reports.
