Bosses of "Dagestani Airlines" suspected of abuse of power

Mirza Omariev, the former Director General of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Dagestani Airlines", and the current company boss Zhabir Abakarov are suspected of abusing their service power by the amount of more than 230 million roubles, according to the website of the Chief Department of the MIA of the NCFD.

Let us remind you that on July 5, Sergey Chenchik, the head of the above Department, said that investigators got interested in the activities of the Dagestani bureaucrats responsible for air transportation.

Operative agents began auditing the financial activities of the republic's airport early last year.

The audit has revealed that from January 2009 to July 2011, the then Director General caused damage to the Company totalling 198.4 million roubles. His successor continued the abuse, and in the period from August to December 2011 managed to "earn" more than 33 million roubles on air fuel procurement operations.

"Thus, the total damage caused by the two bosses to the state-owned company made 231.5 million roubles," the MIA reports. A criminal case was opened against them under Article 201, Part 1, of the Criminal Code - the abuse of service power.

According to the MIA, apart from kerosene machinations, the audits have revealed other violations. Now, the circumstances are studied of disappearance of various spare parts of airliners, for example, an engine for the Tu-154. Another criminal case was opened under Part 4, Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code - a fraud committed by an organized group or at a large scale.
