Navalny and Udaltsov arrested for 15 days for accusation of insubordination to the police

The magistrate's court in Moscow sentenced blogger Alexey Navalny and Coordinator of "Left Front" Sergey Udaltsov to 15 days of administrative arrest for accusation of insubordination to the police. Both oppositionists do not acknowledge themselves guilty.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that an oppositional "March of Millions" passed off on May, 7, in Moscow. According to law enforcement bodies, 436 participants of the march were detained, including blogger Alexey Navalny and Coordinator of "Left Front" Sergey Udaltsov. The oppositionists were fined to one thousand rubles for insubordination to the police. In the morning of May, 8, Navalny and Udaltsov were detained for violation of the order of organization and holding mass actions. Later they were released.

Navalny was detained again during "street festivities" in the center of Moscow on May, 9. He was acknowledged guilty according to clause 19.3 of the Code of administrative violations - "Non-fulfillment of legal orders of a policeman", ITAR-TASS reports.

"I did not put up any resistance or chant any slogans", Alexey Navalny said in court emphasizing that he was just walking peacefully and committed no unlawful actions.

However, it emerges from the policemen's report that "Navalny refused to follow to the bus, was pushing the policemen away with his hands and making a fuss". On studying the materials of the case and listening to the witnesses' arguments the court acknowledged the oppositionist's guilt of the delinquency incriminated to him proven.

Sergey Udaltsov upon the verdict of the court was arrested for 15 days according to the same clause. He is continuing a dry hunger strike he started immediately when delivered to "Basmannoye" Department of Interior Affairs, "Fontanka.ru" reports.

The oppositionist's attorney Violetta Volkova has already appealed against the judgment. According to the attorneys, during trial on Udaltsov's case the materials of the case were not read out, the police protocol and report were not examined, either, "NTV" reports.
