Parties to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict accuse each other of massive violations of ceasefire
Starting from March 18, units of the Armed Forces of Armenia violated the ceasefire. This was reported by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD). The MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh claims that during the period of March 10-17, it registered about 350 cases of violation of the ceasefire by Azerbaijan.
"On March 18, at 10:30-10:35 p.m. and at 11:05-11:10 p.m., units of the Armed Forces of Armenia from their positions near the village of Berkaber of the Ijevan District of Armenia shelled from submachine guns and machine guns the positions of the Azerbaijani Army near the village of Gyzylgadjily of the Gazakh District; at 10:00-10:10 p.m., from the positions near the village of Barekamavan of the Noyemberyan District of Armenia, the opposing side shelled the positions of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan near the village of Gaimagly of the Gazakh District," said the Azerbaijani MoD, the "Trend" reports.
"During the period March 10-17, Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire at the contact line of Nagorno-Karabakh about 350 times," the Department of Information and Propaganda of the Defence Army of Karabakh reported.
The statement also emphasizes that "during that period, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces produced more than 2300 rounds of firearms of different calibres."
"The fire was particularly intense on March 13 and 14. On those days, the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire 150 times and made 1200 rounds," the IA "Novosti-Armenia" quotes the message of the Defence Army of Karabakh.
