Starting this year, Cossacks of North Ossetia will be rewarded by the Government of North Ossetia for the protection of the Russian-Georgian border in the amount of 75 roubles per hour of their service.

At that time, the Cossacks were necessary trained and, after the checking and verification activities, they started to protect the state border within border patrols. Financing of the activities was carried out by the Government of North Ossetia: in 2010, 800,000 roubles were to be allocated from the republic's budget of that purpose. For one duty lasting up to 12 hours, Cossacks received 500 roubles.

In accordance to the document, the Alanic Republic's Cossack District of the Terek Cossack troops will carry out the selection of members of brigades, who will be assigned to border units directly engaged in the activities of the border protection activities, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
