Woman from Nazran reports kidnapping of her son Aliskhan Khadazhev

In Ingushetia, Debukhan Khadazheva, a resident of the city of Nazran, said her son, Aliskhan Khadazhev, 37, was kidnapped and beaten by unidentified men in masks.

The attackers took him away from his house on November 28; some time later, Aliskhan Khadazhev came back home with bruises and damaged leg, the woman said.

"Armed men in masks, who arrived in several Ural and UAZ cars, broke into their house and failed to name themselves and present any documents. At this time, Debukhan and Aliskhan were in the house. The agents grasped the man, took him away to the yard, and put on the ground face down. The house was searched; and two soldiers, whom the agents brought with them acted as search witnesses. The search lasted for about an hour and resulted in detection of and empty submachine gun magazine and a self-made grenade," says the statement of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", which has arrived to the editorial office of the "Caucasian Knot".

According to Debukhan Khadazheva, she personally saw how the grenade was planted into the pocket of Aliskhan's jacket by agents in masks, and the empty magazine was planted by them into her son's room. After searching the house, a protocol was drawn up; the woman refused to sign it. Then, the attackers took Aliskhan Khadazhev away with them together with his VAZ-2017 car. Besides, Debukhan Khadazheva said that 21,000 roubles and a netbook computer disappeared from the house after the search.

It became known later that Khadazhev had been kept at the Nazran ROVD (District Interior Division), where he was brought for questioning by the agents, who arrived to take service from other Russian regions. During interrogation Aliskhan was beaten; and his leg was damaged. His car was found on the same day near his house, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.

The search of the Khadazhevs' house was conducted by the agents of the Centre for Combating Extremism of the local MIA, which is reported by the official website of the Russian MIA for Ingushetia. It has also noted that "machinegun cartridges and an improvised explosive device (IED) known as 'Khattabka' were found on the detainee."
