The European Court of Human Rights has taken cognizance of the case of a former Armenian military prisoner

The case of former Armenian military prisoner Arthur Badalyan was registered in the European Court of Human Rights.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that Azerbaijan passed the Armenian citizen Arthur Badalyan to the Armenian party on March, 17. In the middle of August Arthur Badalyan appealed to the European Court of Human Rights. He complained of unlawful capture and "inhuman treatment and torture".

His attorney Edmon Marukyan informed on November, 2, that a reply was received from the European Court running that the case was registered and assigned an identification number, "NEWS.am" reports.

The claimants consider that in the case with Arthur Badalyan Azerbaijan violated regulations of international humanitarian law, in particular, the Geneva Conventions, and also rejected collaboration with the Armenian party within the framework of the agreements signed by both parties, "Panorama.am" writes.

Azerbaijan, in its turn, states that it secured appropriate living conditions for Badalyan. In particular, during the period of his staying in prison he was visited by representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
