A supposed suicide bomber who was in search in North-Caucasian Federal Okrug got lost in Chechnya on August, 9, his relatives report

Hasan Arsakhanov, native of Chechnya who was searched for by law enforcement bodies of North Osetia, was considered missing since August, 9, his relatives reported.

On August, 17, Anti-terrorist Committee of North Osetia reported a threat of terror for the residents of the republic on mourning days in memory of the act terror of September, 1, 2004, in Beslan. On the same day law enforcement bodies of North Osetia issued a wanted notice for five supposed suicide bombers who according to operative data, were planning a large-scale act of terror in the territory of the republic.

Four persons from this list were residents of Chechnya: Albert Osupov, Zaurbek Aisumov, Razambek Shahmurzaev and Hasan Arsakhanov. The first three were killed in Lenin district of Chechen capital at night of August, 18, during a special operation under the guidance of Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and Arsakhanov is considered missing since August, 9, this year.

“The twenty-three-years-old Hasan Arsakhanov worked at private construction sites. On the day of his disappearance he was laying tile for one of his fellow villagers”, a member of one of the human rights organizations of Chechnya said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

According to him, Arsakhanov’s relatives state that at one o’clock in the afternoon, August, 9, Hasan came home for dinner namaz and received a call on his mobile from an unknown person. After that Arsakhanov left telling his people that he was going to the settlement of Kulari, Grozny district, where he was allegedly offered some job. “After useless waiting for his return Hasan’s father called him on his mobile but got now answer, later the mobile was switched off at all”, the human rights activist says.

According to him, on August, 12, officers from local Department of Interior Affairs came the Arsakhanovs’ house, interrogated the family and accepted a statement of Hasan’s disappearance. “There has been no information of Hasan Arsakhanov’s fate since then and now the news appeared that he got a wanted notice from the Ministry of Interior Affairs of South Osetia for accusation of preparation of an act of terror as a suicide bomber. Hasan Arsakhanov is married and was bringing up two little children”, the “Caucasian Knot’s” interlocutor said.

According to him, two years ago Hasan Arsakhanov was kidnapped by personnel of unidentified power-wielding structures in the town of Grozny and later sentenced to one year an two months custody for participation in paramilitary groups. He was released from prison last autumn.
