In Armenia, more than 100 young people to take part in the 6th stage of programme "Return Home"

On August 8, the 6th stage of the programme "Ari Tun" (Return Home) was launched in Yerevan. Young Armenians from 12 countries will participate in this year's programme. This was announced by Granush Akopyan, Minister of Armenian Diaspora.

The programme "Ari Tun" was developed in 2009 by the Ministry of Diaspora, and it involves representatives of the Armenian Diaspora, aged 13-20, who visit Armenia to get closer acquainted with their historical homeland. In 2009, 307 people participated in the programme, and in 2010 their number had grown to 560.

This year's programme "Return Home" takes place in ten stages from June 20 to September 25. 800 teenagers are expected to participate in this year's programme.

According to Ms Akopyan, young Armenians from Czechia, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Iran, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Russia, and Georgia home to visit, the "Panorama.am" reports.

The participants will visit the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the Khor Virap Monastery, Lake Sevan and honour memory of the victims of genocide and, thus, they will join up to the history and culture of their nation, the IA "News-Armenia" reports.

All participants were given special T-shirts and caps with the logo of the programme "Ari Tun" in the form of Ararat Mount, shown in colours of the Armenian flag.
