The number of members of power ministries killed during a special operation in Dagestan increased by 13

Thirteen servicemen of the Ministry of Interior Affairs and Federal Security Service of Russia were killed in a special operation in Kizlyar district of Dagestan, a source in the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia reported.

In the morning of June, 21, law enforcement officers ntered a battle with armed people in a forest massif near the settlement of Kuznetsovka, Kizlyar district. Heavy armor and helicopters were used, however on June, 22, the gunmen managed to break away from encirclement. On June, 23, the special operation went on.

The perimeter round the area where the gunmen were hiding themselves was cordoned off and thermal imagers were set but the participants of the underground successfully escaped out of the cordon once again. Law enforcement officers found the gunmen’s summer stand in the neighbourhood of the settlements of Bolshakovka and Kuznetsovka, Kizlyar district of Dagestan where they discovered two explosive devices ready for activation.

“During the operation two operative battalions of Inner Troops of the Ministry of Interior Affairs lost ten people. 15 fighters of riot squad detachment No 29 of Inner Troops of the Ministry of Interior Affairs got wounded. Federal Security Service lost three people and three were wounded”, BBC quotes the source in the Ministry of Interior Affairs.

Earlier, 7 killed and 16 gravely wounded members of power ministries were reported. There was also information of five killed gunmen. However, according to a representative of Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation in Dagestan, the investigators received only two bodies of killed gunmen for identification.
