At detention, resident of Kabardino-Balkaria threw a grenade at policemen

In the Chegem District of Kabardino-Balkaria, when law enforcers tried to stop his car, a local resident threw a grenade at them. The grenade blew up, but hurt nobody.

As reportd by sources from law enforcement bodies, by means of response fire "the criminal was wounded and detained."

"In the course of examination of the detainee's Zhiguli car, another RGO grenade was found and a self-made explosion device consisting of a cardboard box stuffed with a mix of ammonium nitrate and aluminium powder with striking elements in the form of construction dowel pins; its power was equivalent to 1.5 kilos of TNT (trotyl)," said the source.

The explosion experts of the Department of the Russian FSB for Kabardino-Balkaria blew up the second grenade and the explosion device in the spot.
