Dagestan: Russian team wins World Cup in Freestyle Wrestling

At the tournament in Makhachkala, the Russian national team defeated their Iranian counterparts in the final and won the World Cup in Freestyle Wrestling.
The score of the final was 5:2 for Russian; the bronze medal went to Azerbaijan, which beat Uzbekistan 6:1.

The Russian team was awarded with the World Cup and 100,000 US dollars of prize money.

The remaining places went as follows: the 4th place went to Uzbekistan, the 5th place – to Cuba, the 6th place – to Ukraine, the 7th place – to the joint team of Kazakhstan and Hungary, the 8th place – to Kyrgyzstan, the 9th place – to Georgia and the 10th place – to Bulgaria.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the World Cup in Freestyle Wrestling started on March 19 with participation of ten national teams. The total prize fund was USD 240,000. Dagestan hosted a sporting event of such high level for the first time.
