Oppositionist Khazbiev and his brother were not delivered to Nazran IVS

The Ingush oppositionist Magomed Khazbiev and his brother Berd, who were sentenced today to ten days of administrative arrest, were again taken instead of the Nazran IVS (temporary detention facility) to some other unknown place. This was reported by their sister Khadi Khazbieva.

The woman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that today, after the trial of the oppositionist and his brothers was over, Magomed and Berd should have been delivered to the Nazran IVS from the GOVD (City Interior Department) at 7:00 p.m. Moscow time; however, they are not there. Relatives gathered there waiting for their arrival, because they fear for their life and health.

According to Khadi Khazbieva, the third arrested brother - Murad - was released, but the court ruling has not yet been handed over to him, so, he is still in custody.

An employee of the office of the Ingush Ombudsman promised to help the Khazbiev family in searching Magomed and Berd.

Let us remind you that Magomed Khazbiev and his two brothers were awarded today by the magistrate court with ten days of administrative arrest. The court has relied on testimony of one of the policemen, who asserted that he personally saw all the three brothers in the street protest action on March 23. It was reported that they would serve their sentence at the IVS of the Nazran GOVD. The office of the Ingush Ombudsman has confirmed that the oppositionist and his brothers were beaten; they received medical assistance; and their health condition was satisfactory.

Head of the republic Yunus-Bek Evkurov issued instructions to all power units to assist the Ombudsman in taking all the necessary steps towards thorough investigation of Magomed Khazbiev's detention. The Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament has also expressed its concern over detention of Khazbiev.
