Release of Georgian sailors from pirate captivity postponed

Liberation of Georgian seamen by Somalia pirates is postponed by ten days, said Sergo Devadze, father of one of the sailors.

According to his story, the Greek ship owner had promised to captives' families that they would be released in late February; however, it is now known that the release was postponed by ten days. He also noted that the reasons for delay were not disclosed in the interest of the case.

It was stated then by Anatoly Chidzhavadze, Chairman of the Seamen's Union of Georgia, the release of Georgian seamen had to be expected by the end of the month: "Negotiations are underway for a long time, and, presumably, our sailors will come back home in late February. I can't say more for the time being," the "Georgia-online" quoted him as saying.
