Two persons injured by explosion in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria

An inspector of the Chief Department of the Russian Investigatory Committee for the Southern and North-Caucasian Federal Districts (SFD and NCFD) and his brother were injured in an explosion of a self-made bomb, which was triggered by unidentified persons in Nalchik.

"At about 9:20 p.m. Moscow time on Thursday (December 23) in Profsoyuznaya Street in Nalchik, unidentified persons triggered a self-made casing-free explosive device, when the above inspector, aged 35, was passing by," said the spokesman of the Investigatory Department of the ICPO for Kabardino-Balkaria.

As a result of the explosion, the inspector received minor shrapnel wounds in his leg; his brother was also hit. "Both were rendered the necessary aid; now their lives are out of danger," said the spokesman.

According to the RIA "Novosti", a criminal case was initiated on the incident.
