Resident of Ingushetia disappears in Moscow

On November 1, Alikhan Umarbekovich Ortskhanov, born in 1984, a resident of Ingushetia, disappeared in Moscow under mysterious circumstances. His brother Bekkhan Ortskhanov has turned for help to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".

Bekkhan Ortskhanov said that two weeks ago Alikhan came to Moscow and took a job at a private security company. He worked at a site with construction equipment and lived there. The last time when his relatives contacted him, he was there, at the construction site. The foreman saw Alikhan leaving for lunch, but then Ortskhanov disappeared; and his mobile phone was switched off.

As of November 2, relatives knew nothing about the whereabouts of Alikhan Ortskhanov. According to his brother, Alikhan had never had any problems with law enforcers, but in early October in the course of a special operation in Surkhakhi village, Nazran District of Ingushetia, FSB agents shot dead his good friend Aliskhan Kuzikov (Kuzigov). Bekkhan Ortskhanov does not exclude the relationship between his brother's disappearance and Kuzikov's death.
