Chechen MIA: attack on parliament was organized by Hussein Gakaev
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya has reported that the militants who attacked this morning the Parliament building in Grozny, were members of the illegal armed formation (IAF) commanded by Hussein Gakaev, who has organized this action in order to kill Chechen MPs and become famous. However, so far, none of the militants has taken responsibility for the attack.
According to the latest data of power agencies, as a result of the attack on the Chechen Parliament (building of the former Ministry of Agriculture), committed today at about 9:00 a.m., two militiamen and one civilian were lost and 17 persons wounded. Three militants also perished. Now, all the important objects in Grozny are under strengthened guard.
The source also said that the investigation is considering other versions of the attack, the ITAR-TASS reports.
Let us remind you that today at 9:00 the meeting was planned of Chechen MPs with their Sverdlovsk colleagues.
According to Igor Danilov, a member of the Sverdlovsk delegation and an eyewitness of the events, nobody from his delegation was hurt, the Radio Liberty reports.
