Village head beaten in Dagestan

Khadishadji Magomedov, administration head of Chirkata village, Gumbet District of Dagestan, was beaten. He was attacked by supporters of one of the candidates to the post of the head of this village, the unit on duty of the Gumbet ROVD (District Interior Division) asserts.

Supporters of the candidate (the election to the post of the village administration head will take place on October 10) came to Magomedov's house and offered him to refuse from nomination. He refused, and then beat him.

Magomedov was taken to hospital with a jaw fracture. The attackers have been identified and are now searched, the "Interfax" reports.

    The Supreme Court (SC) of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has begun considering the lawsuit lodged by Murat Khokonov, Professor of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU), concerning his illegal dismissal.
