Isa Yamadaev: Sulim was buried in Dubai

The former commander of the "Vostok" battalion, Hero of Russia Sulim Yamadaev was buried today in Dubai, as reported by his brother Isa Yamadaev. Sulim's commemoration is held in the city of Gudermes.

As earlier reported by Isa Yamadaev, after the attempt on Sulim committed in the United Arab Emirates last March, he was in coma, and on August 23 the Yamadaev family made a decision to disconnect Sulim from his life-supporting equipment.

Isa Yamadaev explained that the funeral took place in Dubai "because Sulim's family lives in Dubai, and they wanted to have his body buried there," the ITAR-TASS reports.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, today in Gudermes, in the house of the Yamadaev family, the commemoration ceremony (tezet) on Sulim Yamadaev was started. "Sulim's family has announced the tezet because he died; and now people can come to them to condole according to our customs. Also, all other corresponding rites and ceremonies will be held to commemorate Sulim," a close relative of the family said. According to his story, since morning many people have come to the event. Under Chechen traditions, commemoration lasts for several days.
