Rally in defence of organizers of "Taboo Art" exhibition held in Moscow

In Chistye Prudy in Moscow, a rally in defence of Andrei Yerofeev and Yuri Samodurov, organizers of the exhibition "Taboo Art" took place. Artists and human rights defenders came to the action organized by the movement "Solidarity".

About three hundred persons came to support Samodurov and Yerofeev, whose verdict will be announced on July 12.

The participants of the event held posters "No to Black Hundred!" and "Fear the Lord!" Many of them put on T-shirts with inscription "I excite hatred", the "Echo Moskvy" Radio reports.

Within the rally an artistic picket "Estimate but not judge the arts."

Before the start of the rally, two busses with OMON (special-purpose militia) fighters arrived at the monument to Griboedov. The action passed inside the militiamen's cordon; however, it came to its end without detentions and provocations.

Apart from Yerofeev and Samodurov themselves, the audience was addressed artist Dmitri Vrubel, poet Tatiana Scherbina, Sergey Davidis, a member of the political board of the "Solidarity", and Lev Ponomaryov, leader of the movement "For Human Rights", the "Grani.Ru" reports.
