STSI employee wounded in Kabardino-Balkaria

An STSI (State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, known in Russia as "GIBDD") inspector, who was installing a video camera at the entrance to the city of Baksan (Kabardino-Balkaria), was wounded by unidentified persons from a passing car.

A similar case was registered in the republic in late April. At night on April 28, a car of the Road-Patrol Service was attacked in the Baksan District of Kabardino-Balkaria; then, one militiaman was lost and one more was wounded.

"In the afternoon on May 2, unidentified persons opened automatic fire from inside their VAZ-2114 car on the STSI employee, who was installing a video speed monitoring camera. The malefactors managed to escape in their car," the Baksan ROVD has reported.

According to the ROVD spokesman, the inspector was hospitalized, as the "Interfax" reports.

The "Gazeta.Ru" adds that militiamen are now trying to find the attackers' car.
