TV reporters attacked in Derbent, Dagestan

Today, a filming crew of the REN TV Channel was attacked by unidentified persons in Derbent (Dagestan).

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that the REN TV group came to Derbent to cover the course of the election of the head of the city to take place on October 11.

"The situation in the city was far from being calm. Shots were heard here and there. We were working, filming our report and started videoing a fight that burst out at one of the polling stations. At that moment some persons in sports suits came up to us and took away our TV camera," said journalist Dmitri Sanin, head of the group.

According to his story, none of the members of the crew suffered; at the moment they are in a safe premise. The journalists did not go anywhere and did not report the incident to law enforcement bodies, the "Interfax" writes.
