Solidarity picket with Uigurs dispersed in Azerbaijan

Today, about fifty activists of the "Musavat" Party made an attempt to hold a picket in front of the embassy of the People's Republic of China in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The action was planed as a protest against oppressions of Uigurs (Eastern Turkis) in China.

However, as reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, reinforced police units would not allow the protesters to rally in front of the Chinese embassy and used force against them. Five persons were detained, several more suffered. The picketers could not even hand over their resolution to the embassy.

The resolution of the picket expresses a resolute protest against recent massacres and other violent actions in China against Uigur Turkis.

The detained protesters were warned by the police and then released.
