Trial on schoolboy's incitement to suicide started in Stavropol Territory

Today, the Budyonnovsk City Court, Stavropol Territory, has started considering the case of the teacher of mathematics accused of inciting a pupil of the 9th form to suicide.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Court that teacher Valentina Neumyvakina was charged under the articles of the Criminal Code of Russia dealing with "Insult" and "Incitement to suicide". The litigation will be held by means of travel sessions in some other district of the Territory by the Budyonnovsk City Court.

"The investigation has established that the teacher kept repeatedly abusing the boy after each unsatisfactory answer in the presence of other pupils, demanded to call up his parents and invite them to school. Besides, there were cases, when the teacher struck the boy on his head," says the ICPO's statement promulgated earlier.

On January 30, 2008, Vanya Chernikov, 15, a pupil of the school, committed suicide, having taken a fatal doze of some medicine. He left a message in his mobile phone addressed to his parents and evidencing that he was incited to suicide by the teacher, who had humiliated and offended him on a regular basis.
