Investigation into Paul Khlebnikov's murder resumed

Russian inquiry bodies have resumed their investigation into the murder of Paul Khlebnikov, former editor-in-chief of Russian Forbes, as reported by Larissa Maslennikova, who is representing the interests of the Khlebnikovs.

"As the advocate of the victim Michael Khlebnikov, in June I received a notice from the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) saying that on May 28 the preliminary inquiry on the fact of Paul Khlebnikov's murder was suspended because of a failure to find the persons accused of committing the crime," Ms Maslennikova said on air of the "Echo Moskvy" Radio.

Nevertheless, as she has noted, after the suffered party had addressed Petros Garibyan, senior inspector on especially important cases of the ICPO, another notice was received that on June 19 the proceedings were resumed.

The progress in investigating Khlebnikov's murder will be on the agenda of Barack Obama's meeting with Dmitri Medvedev to take place in Moscow in July, as reported by the Reuters.
