On March 2, in Grozny, Zelimkhan Magomadov, a member of the armed underground in Chechnya, surrendered to the law enforcement authorities. According to the law enforcers, Zelimkhan Magomadov was a member of the armed underground since 2009, and in 2010, he was put on the federal wanted list.

During the week from March 2 to March 8, 2015, at least one person was killed in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus; there were no reports about any wounded persons. In Stockholm, a member of the Chechen Human Rights Centre (ChHRC) has appealed to the Swedish authorities for explanations concerning the circumstances of deportation of Kana Afanasev, a native of Chechnya, who died after his detention in Elin-Yurt.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on February 24, an explosion occurred on the dam in the settlement of Chernorechie in Grozny, which killed three people. None of them was known as a militant. After the incident, it became known that two residents of the nearby village of Gvardeiskoe were detained.
