From December, 8, 2009, when the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation liquidated the community of Jehovah's Witnesses in Taganrog and prohibited the activities of believers of this confession in two more districts of Rostov region, till the end of 2001, 197 cases of violation of the rights of this religious organization took place in the South of Russia. This was told to the “Caucasian Knot” in the Management Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia.

The crew of the Russian vessel “Rustika” standing in the sea-port of Vladivostok went on a hunger strike because of a two-month backpay. The arrears of wages makes 50 thousand dollars. 11 members of “Rustika” crew are taking part in the hunger strike. The vessel is standing near the mooring of “Dalzavod”.

Kurman Ismailov, Deputy Mufti of the Stavropol Territory, who was killed on February 13 in Pyatigorsk, in 2011, was detained by power agents on suspicion of possessing explosives. Kurman Ismailov was released without charges, he was supported by well-known human rights defenders and members of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation; however, after his detention and release, he stated that he did not feel safe and expected "the second act of that play, the final one."
