Moscow radicals resume interrupted collection of signatures under appeal for UN administration mission in Chechnya

Moscow activists for the Transnational Radical Party (TRP) and the "Club Khramov - Association for Libertarian Reforms? resumes collection of citizens? signatures under the appeal ?For United Nations Administration Mission in Chechnya?, addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, as well as the heads of the UN Member States and the heads of their governments.

Earlier an "offline" collection of signatures was practically stopped because of the stubborn counteraction of Moscow's Central Administrative District Prefecture, and mainly because of complete destruction of the TRP Moscow office as a result of a stealing of office equipment. Now, when the work of the office has been partly restored with new equipment, when a new way of collection of signatures on the city streets that does not require an official approval of local authorities has been found, Russian radicals actively join in the campaign of the TRP for the UN administration mission in Chechnya again.

The following people are among those who were the first to sign the appeal: writer Vladimir Bukovsky, human right activist Elena Bonner, philosopher Andre Glucksmann, head of the Union of Russian Committees of Soldiers' Mothers Ida Kuklina, executive director of the Movement "For Human Rights" Lev Ponomaryov, European Parliament deputies Alima Boumediene-Thiery, Marco Cappato, Paulo Casaca, Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Gianfranco Dell'Alba, Benedetto Della Vedova, Harlem Desir, Olivier Dupuis, Pernille Frahm, Jose Maria Mendiluce, Francois Zimeray, film director Romain Goupil, and other eminent politicians, public figures and activists and cultural workers. 6216 people in all from 76 countries, including 1755 Russian, had signed the appeal by August 14.
