On January 3-9, 2022, no one fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of January 3-9, 2022, no killed or wounded in the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the “Caucasian Knot” based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

A resident of Dagestan fined for posting IS flag on Instagram

On January 4, a court imposed a fine in the amount of 1000 roubles on Ruslan Mallaliev, a resident of Dagestan, who posted on Instagram an image of the flag of the “Islamic State” (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”). Ruslan Mallaliev was found guilty under Article “Propaganda or public display of Nazi or extremist paraphernalia or symbols”. The court sentenced the man to a minimum punishment.
