Azerbaijan returns two Kasakh residents

The residents of the Kasakh community, who got lost and ended up in the territory controlled by Azerbaijan, have returned home with the assistance of Russian border guards.

Two Kasakh residents lost their way from Goris to Kapan. They are relatives; and one of them managed to tell his family that they were stopped on the highway, the Armenia National Security Service (NSS) has reported.

Let us remind you that on September 9, Azerbaijan set up a police post on the border section of the Goris-Kapan highway. There are complaints against Azerbaijani policemen on the post for their rough behaviour, the Vice-Mayor of Goris has noted.

Azerbaijani militaries have taken control over a section of the Goris-Kapan highway following the outcomes of the 44-day hostilities in the fall of 2020; earlier, the territories bordering on Armenia in this locality had been controlled by the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
