Human rights defenders achieve reconsideration of complaint about threats against Kadyrov's critics

The Chechen Supreme Court (SC) has ruled to reconsider the claim of human rights defenders against the investigators who had refused to check the threats voiced by Ramzan Kadyrov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 22, 2020, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial"* and the Moscow Helsinki Group lodged an application to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), claiming that the calls for murder voiced by Kadyrov were undermining the authorities' image and could be perceived by subordinates to the head of Chechnya as guide to action. Then, investigators refused to make decision on the claims.
