Seven persons detained after a protest action in Yerevan

In the centre of Yerevan, activists of the movement "Azatagrum" (Liberation) blocked the roadway with garbage cans. They demanded the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan. The police restored traffic down the street and detained seven persons.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Yerevan, supporters of the opposition hold actions demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, whom they considered responsible for the transfer of the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan. On February 25, the activists set up a tent camp in front of the parliament, and since March 9, they have been blocking the entrances and exits of the building. The activists stay in the tent camp overnight.

"We can no longer live in the country where the Prime Minister is a traitor," said one of the protesters.

He notes that the movement "Azatagrum" is not a party, but a "people's liberation movement," which "is not going to tolerate what is happening in the country."

The police called on the protesters to unblock the roadway and stated that "the activists violated the rights of other citizens to free movement." The police then moved the garbage cans themselves and thus restored traffic.

The police drew up protocols and then released all seven detained activists, reported businessman Mikael Badalyan, the coordinator of the movement "Azatagrum".
