In Abkhazia, opposition hold a protest action near parliament building

About 200 people gathered in front of the parliament of Abkhazia to express their indignation at the trip of presidential aide Benur Kviraya to Georgia. The administration of President Aslan Bzhaniya claimed that Benur Kviraya visited Georgia after he had resigned from his post as the aide to the President of Abkhazia.

Today, the Abkhaz public organization "Aruaa" has called on the people, outraged by the trip of Abkhaz officials to Georgia, to gather at Freedom Square in Sukhumi. About 200 people gathered at the square, and they went to the building of the Abkhaz parliament to discuss with MPs the visit of Benur Kviraya, the aide to the President of Abkhazia, to Georgia.

The "Abkhaz National Movement" has disseminated the statement about the Benur Kviraya's trip to Abkhazia.

In Georgia, Benur Kviraya did not act as the aide to the President of Abkhazia, the press service for the leader of Abkhazia reported. "On February 19, Benur Kviraya resigned as the aide to the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, and no officials gave him any instructions to negotiate with the Georgian authorities," reads the statement posted on the official website of the Abkhaz leader.
