Antiterrorist Commission of Kabardino-Balkaria has again called militants to lay down arms

The Antiterrorist Commission of Kabardino-Balkaria has again addressed the members of illegal armed formations who remain under search with an appeal to take advantage of the several days left till the end of the amnesty, and to lay down arms.

It is known that the amnesty expires at midnight on January 15. During its term, seven persons have voluntarily surrendered to militia units in Kabardino-Balkaria, the last of them - a 30 years old resident of the village of Shalushka of the Chegemskiy District - came to militia several days ago. He was searched on suspicion of participating in the events related to the attack on power agencies of Kabardino-Balkaria on October 13, 2005. All the persons who have voluntarily surrendered to militia were amnestied. Pardon was also granted to 12 person arrested after the events on October 13, 2005.

Now, 23 persons are still under search, including the leaders of the Kabardino-Balkarian jama'at.
