Activist achieves cancellation of fine for violation at Volgograd picket

The Volgograd Regional Court has supported the activist, Vladimir Telpuk, who demanded to cancel the fine of 10,000 roubles imposed on him for violating the order of holding an action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 25, Vladimir Telpuk said at the picket that the court had fined him by 10,000 roubles.

Now, he has added that the above court cancelled his fine for violating the picket rules.

Mr Telpuk said that in August he held a solo picket in central Volgograd. "Unknown people began threatening me; I turned to policemen; they checked their documents and said that everything was fine. After that I decided to stop my picket. Another activist was holding his solo picket on the opposite side of the street. I told him that my picket was over and I was leaving," he said.

According to his story, when he approached the other picketer, some man made their photo. "It turned out that we were standing side by side holding posters in our hands. On this basis, I was fined by 10,000 roubles claiming that we held a joint picket," Vladimir has explained.

According to his story, his representative appealed against the fine. "On November 25, the court cancelled the fine, but I've learned about it only today from my representative," he has added.
