Red Cross announces exchange of bodies of 200 Nagorno-Karabakh casualties

Under the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the parties of the Karabakh conflict have already received 200 bodies of those who perished during the hostilities. The Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has drafted a map for searching for the dead and missing military servicemen.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the body exchange was included into the peace agreement signed by leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia.

Peter Maurer, the ICRC President, has called the help to refugees, search for bodies of the dead, as well as visiting prisoners of war to prepare for possible negotiations and exchange of them as the priorities of his organization in Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to Araik Arutyunyan, President of Nagorno-Karabakh, hundreds of bodies are still in the battlefields. In his turn, Nikol Pashinyan, Armenian Prime Minister, has stated that since September 27, about 2400 Armenian soldiers have perished, and hundreds of others have gone missing.
