Chechen law enforcers refuse to investigate "expulsion of genies" from Aminat Lorsanova

Investigators forwarded to the Chechen police an Aminat Lorsanova's complaint about violence by relatives and compulsory treatment. However, the police refused to institute a criminal case, the "Russian LGBT Network" reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20, Aminat Lorsanova, a 22-year-old native of Chechnya, who left Russia in April 2019 with the help of the "Russian LGBT Network", addressed the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). She stated that she had been subjected to violence in Grozny by her relatives and a specialist in the "expulsion of genies."

An acquaintance of Aminat Lorsanova's relatives was beating the complainant with a stick while reading the Koran, while the relatives were not responding to her requests.

According to Veronika Lapina, collaborating with the "Russian LGBT Network", she requested the Ministry for Public Health to check a psychiatric clinic where Aminat Lorsanova was placed. According to the activist's version, medical staff of the clinic diagnosed Aminat Lorsanova with a disease, not listed in the international classification of diseases.

In February, Aminat Lorsanova reported that only her third attempt to escape "treatment" in Chechnya appeared to be successful.

In January, Djambulat Umarov, then Chechen Minister for National Policy, External Relations, Press, and Information, declared Aminat Lorsanova a "victim of LGBT technologists and Caucasophobes" and accused the "Russian LGBT Network" of cheating the "sick Chechen girl." "They forced her to admit that she was an adherent of non-traditional orientations," Djambulat Umarov said.
