Social network users: Argun residents forced to honour Kadyrov's mother

The state-run "Grozny" TV Channel made public several stories about the celebration of the Aimani Kadyrova's birthday. Residents of Argun involuntarily took part in the march dedicated to the birthday of the Chechen leader's mother, Instagram users suggested.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the authorities of Grozny have organized a contest among schoolchildren for the best video dedicated to the mother of the Chechen leader. The contest was timed to coincide with the Aimani Kadyrova's birthday, which was celebrated on August 4.

On its Instagram page, the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) posted a TV report about a flash mob organized by activists of the movement "Akhmat" in Argun. According to the TV report, in the centre of the city, several dozen young people unfolded a huge banner with a portrait of the mother of the Chechen leader.

The video provoked sceptical comments from social network users. "People are being forced to do that," suggested, in particular, user neizvesten004. In their comments, other Instagram users also expressed their dissatisfaction with the developments. "What a superfluous celebration. It's a nightmare. [...] They should have been more modest," wrote, in particular, user ndirakochieva. "You should announce this day a public holiday," noted user surovikino_kosm1 with sarcasm.
