Parents with many children in Chechnya complain about deficit of information on benefits

Chechnya is collecting applications for benefits that are planned to be paid to parents of preschool children since June, the republic's Ministry of Labour has stated. However, recipients of payments to families with many children complain that they learned about the due benefits not from officials, but from acquaintances.

On May 2, Magomed Daudov, Speaker of Chechen Parliament, criticized the father of eight children, who lost his job during quarantine and turned to him for help. Daudov suggested him to sell his car in order to "stretch the time." The appeal for help in a difficult situation is not contrary to Chechen customs, Caucasian experts have pointed out. People in Chechnya are poorly informed that the authorities have introduced new benefits for families with children, a lawyer has suggested.

State support in Chechnya is provided to large families through social protection divisions, and employment centres of the regional Ministry of Labour, and by the branches of the Pension Fund, an operator of the hotline of the social protection division of the Ministry of Labour of Chechnya.

Kazbek, a father of five children from Achkhoi-Martan, said that 5000 roubles for each child under the age of three are credited to his bank card.

Isa, a father of five children from Grozny, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he learned about the payments to large families just occasionally.
