Sources treat murder in Ingushetia as blood feud

Murad Nalgiev, a resident of the village of Surkhakhi in the Nazran District, fell victim to the blood feud, his relative and an Ingush official has reported.

On April 7, Nalgiev, a 58-year-old local resident, received a gunshot wound and died in hospital.

An official named Umar told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Murad Nalgiev was shot dead. According to his story, more than 30 years ago, Nalgiev had a quarrel with the son of Usman-Mulla Mutsolgov, an influential religious figure in Surkhakhi, as a result of which the Mullah's son died. "On the same day, Nalgiev left Ingushetia ... About a year and a half or two ago, he and his family returned to Surkhakhi at the request of his sick mother. Many believe that Murad Nalgiev's murder was a blood feud," the official said.

"According to some sources, the quarrel of the young people was caused by the nationality of Murad Nalgiev's – she is Russian. That long-standing murder made Murad Nalgiev a blood feudist," the source has emphasized.

A relative of the casualty from Surkhakhi said that Murad Nalgiev wanted to stop the blood feud with the Mutsolgovs. In their turn, the Mutsolgovs deny their any involvement in the murder.
