Caucasian experts rule out any possibility of public apology of Delimkhanov's daughter

The responsibility for the actions of a Chechen girl, prior to her marriage, is on her father, Caucasian experts have noted in their comments to the video clip posted by Kheda Delimkhanova. In their opinion, no consequences will follow after the publication of the immodest video of Adam Delimkhanov's daughter.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above video clip filmed on behalf of Kheda, the daughter of Adam Delimkhanov, an adviser to the head of Chechnya and a State Duma MP, in which she is called the "Sultana of Sun and Moon", shows immodesty that does not correspond to Muslim traditions, residents of Chechnya have stated.

The scandalous video shows a girl with her face covered with a transparent scarf and a crown on her head is walking around the richly furnished apartments. Other girls dressed as handmaids accompany her, bowing at her appearance.

According to Chechen traditions, the father is responsible for the girl's behaviour prior to her marriage, said Mikhail Roschin, a senior researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in his comment to the video shot on behalf of Adam Delimkhanov's daughter.

"Perhaps, Delimkhanov should have somehow scolded her for this," Mr Roschin told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Akhmet Yarlykapov, a senior researcher at the Centre for Caucasian Problems and Regional Security, of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (known as MGIMO) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), also told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that, according to tradition, until his daughter got married, her father was responsible for her behaviour. He has also noted that modesty is one of the most important features of a Chechen woman.

According to Caucasus experts, if Kheda Delimkhanova herself figured in the video, the fact that her face was covered with a veil does not allow treating her actions as immodest; therefore, they are unlikely to be followed by any harsh punishment from Ramzan Kadyrov.

"I believe it will be a warning, no more," said Mikhail Roschin, emphasizing that "any public apology by Kheda Delimkhanova is out of question."
