Armenian soldier wounded on Azerbaijani border

A Private Arthur Arzumanyan was wounded by a sniper's shot and hospitalized, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.

The incident occurred on January 11 near the village of Berkaber, Tavush Region, Artsrun Ovannisyan, the spokesman for the Armenian MoD, has added. According to his story, doctors assess the soldier's health condition as satisfactory.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 7, 2020, the Azerbaijani MoD announced the death of a border guard Farzali Farzaliev as a result of a sniper's shot from the Armenian side. The death of the border guard will lead to a sharp deterioration in the two countries' mutual relations, suggested the blogger of the "Caucasian Knot" under the nickname "Wind from Apsheron" has suggested.

According to the Armenian Prosecutor's Office, in 2019, the combat losses of the Armed Forces of Armenia and the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh amounted to four persons.
