Residents of Chechnya criticize traffic police for double standards

In Chechnya, a video showing how offenders of traffic rules are scolded has reminded Instagram users about the road accident involving Ramzan Kadyrov's relative. Local residents have pointed to law enforcers' double standards, who publicly humiliate only ordinary people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since this October, Chechen publics have posted at least four videos with the so-called "educative conversations" practised by police stations with detainees for drinking alcohol and using psychotropic substances.

Another such "prophylactic conversation" was held at the GIBDD (Federal Traffic Police) Branch for Chechnya with drivers. "Special attention was paid to the three drivers, who were brought to the police for refusing to undergo a medical examination for intoxication. They could not explain the reason for their actions," said the group "ChP Chechnya" in the Instagram social network.

Such "educational" events have no effect on the observance of traffic rules, Israil, an activist, believes.
