House of Ingush journalist's parents searched

Law enforcers have searched the house of parents of Izabella Evloeva, the founder and leader of the oppositional Ingush edition "Fortanga". Magomed Mutsolgov, a human rights defender, has linked the search with the professional activities of the journalist, who is temporarily living in Europe.

In the morning on November 22, law enforcers came to the house of her parents to conduct a search. Isabella Evloeva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the search lasted for six-seven hours.

"They showed a search order, but my mother was without her glasses; and she couldn't read it. They seized all the electronic equipment and mobile phones. They found two copies of the charter of the Ingush National Unity Committee (INUC) and two pages with phone numbers of arrested activists. Well, how they 'found' them – these items were never in our house before; therefore they first planted them, and then 'found'," she said.

The search of Evloeva's parents has to do with her professional activities, Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the "Mashr" human rights organization, is sure.

"This is pressure on Izabella ... as part of repressions against people's protests in Ingushetia," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
