Visit of NKR's official to USA causes Azerbaijan's protest

Earl Litzenberger, the US ambassador to Azerbaijan, was invited to the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and served a note of protest against the visit to the USA of Masis Mailyan, a representative of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

The note expresses protest against the issuance of visas by US authorities to NKR representatives, stating that this undermines the settlement process of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the "Trend.az" reports.

Permits to make such visits are counter the US commitments as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, as well as such principles of the international law like the respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Azerbaijani MFA has stated.

Ambassador Earl Litzenberger has said that some members of the US Congress had meetings with NKR representatives and stressed that the USA does not recognize the NKR's regime, the "Haqqin.az" reports.
