Azerbaijan registers 21 shelling attacks in conflict zone

The positions of the Azerbaijani troops on the border with Armenia and in the Karabakh conflict zone were subjected to shelling attacks, including from heavy machine guns, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reports.

On October 27-28, the Azerbaijani positions were shelled 21 times, reports the Azerbaijani MoD on its official website. The positions of the Azerbaijani troops at nameless heights in the Gadabay District came under fire coming from the direction of Armenia, the Azerbaijani MoD reports. The fire also came from the areas considered by Azerbaijan as its occupied territories.

In April 2016, after the aggravation in the Karabakh conflict zone, the parties to the conflict agreed to the truce, but the confrontation was not stopped. For two years, shelling attacks were registered every day. The Azerbaijani MoD reported an almost complete absence of shelling attacks in the front zone only in the period from June 20 to July 17, 2019.
